Juicers
The design of the juicers that I prefer squeeze the juice slowly. They have low speed high torque motors. This prevents the juice from heating or losing nutritive value as the important vitamins breakdown due to high speed blades in less expensive machines such as the centrifigual juicers with high speed rotating cages or the expensive high speed blender style juicers. The slow machines turn less than a 120 rotations a minute and our quieter than the high speed styles. The remaining pulp tends to be dryer as more juice is extracted providing a higher yield of juice from the same amount of produce. The pulp can be sent back through the slow juicers to be squeezed again increasing the yield.
The following are suggestions across various price-points. They will have different size shoots for feeding your fruits and vegetables and some have various attachments for doing other jobs besides juicing. The Angel juicers are very expensive but have such a high yield of extraction that the left over pulp is like sawdust. They are also all metal as opposed to plastics and ceramics. This machine is priced as a luxury. I encourage you to examine these machines at local stores like Bed Bath and Beyond and Kitchen Kaboodle before making an investment. As well as, reading reviews and finding youtube videos, as you decide on what is best for your needs. |
