Areas of Specialty:
Shoulder issues, pain relief, stress, sleep, muscular imbalances Scott Klein, L.Ac. is an expert in pain management, releasing trauma, and helping to repair repetitive stress patterns held in the body. He has been in the healing field for over 30 years, is a licensed acupuncturist for over 12 years, and combines the many healing modalities of bodywork that he has mastered over the years to provide a deeper healing experience for his clients. The Desire to Heal Started at an Early Age Born and raised in Southern California, Scott came to acupuncture in a very round-about way, but as a result, brings a strong western medical background which aids him as he helps his patients. Scott’s passion for the healing industry began in his early teens when he taught himself massage for allergy relief, practicing often on friends, family, and classmates. After graduating from high school, Scott attended Humbolt State University, in Northern California where he graduated with a B.A. in Biopsychology. He headed back home to Southern CA, where he graduated from massage school and extensive continuing ed in light touch techniques– once again following the path that his heart had led him on as a teen. In his early 30’s, the calling to further his medical career inspired him to return to Humboldt State University where he worked on his pre-med with the intention of becoming an Osteopath. While taking classes, Scott also worked as a medical assistant at a local internal medicine clinic, additionally he would moonlight as a physical therapy aide at the local hospital one weekend a month. It didn’t go unnoticed that he often saw the same doctors that he worked with during the week, toiling away at the hospital on the weekends. (Yes, like he was doing.) During this time, there were two Osteopaths in particular that caught his attention. While they progressed forward in their careers, they worked long hours and didn’t appear to be terribly happy. They disclosed that they “didn’t think this was how it would be.” Burning the candle at both ends like this ran counter to Scott’s perception of embodying the tenants of health and healing — and so, it was clear that a change in course was needed. What had helped him besides osteopathy? After some deliberation he came to realize acupuncture was right there. He enrolled in the highly respected Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) in Portland, graduating in 2011. Scott’s Calling is Dedicated to Helping People Get out of Pain and be their best healthy selves With over 40 years as a bodyworker, Scott is a gifted practitioner with a wide array of modalities to help his patient’s get out of pain and return to health. TestimonialsPain, feet, increased energy
“Scott Klein has changed my life. As a result of working with him, the pain in my feet has eased and I can stand longer, walk longer, and move my toes better! All-in-all I generally feel better and have more energy.” Neck and Head Pain I have been coming for chronic neck pain and headaches. Scott's treatments have provided me with tremendous relief and he does this with genuine concern and a smile! Arthritis, Pain and Fibromyalgia I have arthritis in my spine and was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I worked extensively with Scott Klein in 2015 and found considerable relief from my chronic pain and fatigue. Scott’s acupuncture treatments and guided visualizations were really helpful and he’s a joy to work with. Barbara Combines Acupuncture, Massage and More Scott is a fine practitioner in that: 1) He listens. 2) You know this because he asks questions about what you said. 3) His approach is broad spectrum from acupuncture to massage to herbal remedies, and he blends the disciplines as needed; 4) he is always firm yet gentle. Strongly recommended! Sense of Taste With an array of modalities in addition to acupuncture, and sensitive intuition, Scott has helped me with many health issues. One of the most significant was restoring my sense of taste, which I had almost completely lost. Sinus Congestion and Pain When I became aware of early signs of congestion in November/December, Scott’s work supported relatively rapid clearing that moved pain and pressure from my sinuses to open up and release. His treatments and advice for steps to take to supplement his work made it possible for me to continue with my life, adding some additional rest, but without being bed-bound for days on end. It was a great relief to me physically and emotionally to be able to take care of myself without having to withdraw from normal activities of my work and social life. In previous years, these symptoms were but precursors to a period of about 8-10 days that I would have had to spend in bed. Whole Body Health Care I count on Scott for a full spectrum of support that addresses my physical body experiences with attention to more than one dimension: from acupuncture needles to focused massage techniques, and including dietary recommendations, while also gently suggesting areas of inquiry for emotional issues. His care and treatment supports me in remembering that I am a whole being, more than the sum of parts. “Scott has a great ability to ask the right questions and find out about what’s going on with my body and be able to treat it. I might make a casual comment, but he hears it, asks more questions and does something different – and then I feel better.” |
